The story of the little acorn, a small seed who couldn’t imagine ever being anything more. 

Author Allison Sumrall wrote The Little Acorn as a way to remind readers, especially children, that they can remain hopeful in spite of difficult circumstances. Children will learn about resiliency, gratitude, and using uncontrollable circumstances to grow. Adults will appreciate the message and enjoy flipping through the whimsical images with young readers. Allie’s hope is that the book will spark conversations about the different seasons of life.

“I want each child to always have an unwavering hope, confidence, and an understanding that our thoughts and how we view the world is so vital in determining how we experience life. Although life can be hard, we always have a choice to grow from whatever circumstances life throws our way.”

Fully funded by a Kickstarter campaign in 2020, Allie wrote and illustrated the book under the watchful eye of her young son, Dylan, who she hoped to inspire with the story. Gifts of $5-$50 helped Allie reach her goal in just under 30 days.
